2020 Award Predictions

I should preface this blog entry by admitting that I was completely wrong in my Caldecott and Newbery predictions for last year, so feel free to take these with a grain of salt! Now I'm not one to watch the Oscars or Golden Globes, but give me some ALA awards and I'm a happy librarian. Last January we had an eLearning day due to extreme weather on the day of the awards ceremony, so I got to watch the announcements live from my couch! I'm not counting on that happening again this year, but I can't wait to see what books are recognized on Monday. CALDECOTT These five titles are my favorites for the picture book award. I'm not quite sure which will take home the medal and which will be honors,

New year, new projects

Happy 2020! I am excited for everything this new year has in store both personally and at work. The first half of this school year had been… an overwhelming blur. After spending much of the summer reorganizing and cataloging books at the middle school, the school year started and things have been going nonstop. Winter break was a much-needed time to take a deep breath, and I realized that I haven’t updated this blog all school year! Yikes. This fall was crazy busy at the elementary school with getting used to a set teaching schedule and reorganizing new furniture, which has been a lot of fun.
